In 2016, Lizete Giuzio found her way to Amsted Rail through a chance encounter. At the time, Lizete was at the helm of a rolling stock leasing company owned by Private Equity and American investors — a company that Amsted Rail was considering investing in. During prospect meetings, Lizete had the opportunity to meet with Amsted Rail management, and instead of investing in the leasing company, they decided to bring Lizete on board to run their finance department in Brazil.
Lizete was excited for the chance to work with Amsted Rail, which was not only expanding internationally but would bring a breath of fresh air into the generally conservative rail industry. As she reflects on the organization’s growth, she’s proud of how far it has come.
Mirroring Amsted Rail’s growth is Lizete’s own professional development. Starting as the Finance Director for Amsted Rail Brazil, she quickly assumed negotiations with key suppliers. When Amsted Rail became the majority owner of the AmstedMaxion foundry, Lizete’s role evolved to Vice President of Finance and Commercial for AmstedMaxion and Amsted Rail Brazil, covering all South American countries. Dealing with an array of diverse subjects demanded extra effort in a challenging environment, but every challenge has fueled Lizete’s motivation, making each day at Amsted Rail an exciting endeavor.
