Amsted Rail International, Inc., a leading global manufacturer of underwagon freight rail products, is excited to announce a landmark project with longstanding customer Tahawy Rail, DWC LLC. Amr Tahawy, CEO of Tahawy Rail and the Tahawy family of companies, has successfully represented Amsted Rail and its products in the Egyptian marketplace for the last four decades. Building on this success, Tahawy Rail has secured the single largest freight bogie system supply agreement in the history of this decades old relationship. As part of this award, complete Motion Control bogies, wheelsets, and automatic couplers with Endurance draft gears, will be manufactured by Amsted Rail and shipped to Egypt for the production of 1,000 wagons by SEMAF Railway Factor, a subsidiary of the Arab Organization for Industrialization (AOI), for the country’s state owned operator Egyptian National Railways (ENR). Wagon types will include Box Cars, Brake Vans, Flat Wagons, Side Dumpers, and Tank Cars.
